I’ve taken a bit of a holiday break recently but that hasn’t stopped me from listening to a ton of music. It’s great to spend time focused on really listening to all the intricacies but it’s definitely been a challenge to find the time with so much great music being put out there. I’ve been tuned in mostly on the heavy experimental beat scene this past week. Some have placed it in an entirely new genre conveniently titled “wonky.” Some of the more well known artists include Flying Lotus, Samiyam, Dimlite, Dorian Concept, Fulgeance, Mono / Poly and Eskmo to name a few. I’d like to shine the light here if you will on one particular: Dimlite. He’s originally from Switzerland and his creative productions have taken him worldwide. Check out a few of my favorite YouTube clips below.
The quintessential Flying Lotus mix of the decade was recently uploaded for all to download on Brainfeeder’s website. The mix was curated by The Gas Lamp Killer. In midst of all the holiday fuss, decor, and non-stop eating, I consider this to be the silver lining, the blazing red cherry on top of a heaping serving of whip cream to end an amazing year. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, there’s definitely something wrong with you. Get it!
