Jeremiah Jae – Raw Money Raps
Jeremiah Jae’s (Brainfeeder) rawness shines through gracefully on his new album Raw Money Raps. The title is quite fitting as this is the rawest sounding hip hop record i’ve heard in quite some time. The warmth, dirt and distortion I hear on my favorite classic records is all present here including buzzing in the signal flow, call me old school, I love it. If you’re a diehard Madlib or Dilla fan you will appreciate every aspect. You’ll also hear classic Flying Lotus material in the mix. Jeremiah’s lyrical work matches up perfectly with raw non linear poetic content. This album screams timeless classic in every possible way. My personal favorites: Greetings (feat. Tre), Cat Fight, Money and Food (on constant repeat), Money, ah forget it. I have the entire album on constant repeat at the moment.
