It’s astonishing that such a mature and complex sound could come from an eighteen year old. London based singer/songwriter Alex Fleming aka Black Atlass at the age of seventeen put together a self-entitled debut EP in his basement studio when he was just finishing up his senior year…in high school. When he lists out his key influences – Frank Zappa, Prince, and Frank Ocean – the reasons become obvious. He delivers a consistent sound of haunting vocal magic matched to a unique blend of highly distorted instrumentals, and heavily compressed drums resulting in a grimy six track offering that screams out classic. It has now been officially re-released as a free download completely remixed and remastered. An official video has also been released for the track Castles.
