Black Pistol Fire – Crows Feet

BlackPistolFire 400x378 Black Pistol Fire Crows Feet

Out this week is the new release from Austin-by-way-of-Toronto duo, Black Pistol Fire. Their first single Crows Feet (and I don’t mean your mother’s crows feet) is a analog, rockabilly barnstormer. Jenny Lewis found acclaim when she went alt country in 2008 with Acid Tongue, and given all the recent success The Black Keys have found with a rockabilly-lite formula, the door may be open for a more deeply rooted version like Black Pistol Fire to take hold. Friends since Kindergarten, Kevin McKeown and Eric Owen put Toronto in their rear view mirror for the more exhilarating and musically fruitful landscape of Austin in 2009. The home of SXSW, Austin’s musical influence runs deep;  and what better place to borne a rockabilly-inclined outfit than Texas? Can lightening strike twice? That is, can a similarly influenced ‘Black’ band set the music industry ablaze? If Crows Feet is any indication, the answer is yes.
