Ryan Hemsworth – Charly Wingate (Music Video)
Ryan Hemsworth’s new music video for Charly Wingate reminds me of classic Apple Macintosh video games. It’s a 2D animated collage with 3D depth. Various elements in the animation coincide well with the assortment of samples and electronic synth patches. Everything glues together perfectly, filling in a context of dreamlike states born within the confines of a darker yet playful ambience. It’s a perfectly detailed mirroring of its audible cues through out. It’s difficult to categorize the music as anything specific but it fuses elements of hip hop and electronic dance music into one cohesive production perfect for either headphone listening or a club friendly DJ mix.
