FLYING LOTUS
[Warp]
Flying Lotus is a massive force in independent music, redefining the boundaries of contemporary electronic music with every move. Plug Research dropped his first album 1983 to unanimous, global critical acclaim, while his most recent Los Angeles opus on Warp Records has been the template for beat music. That “next level shit” artists are always talking about? This is it. A certified Low End hero, Flying Lotus returns with brand new heat for the Beat Invitational.

JNEIRO JAREL
[Lex Records]
Jneiro Jarel (a.k.a. Dr. Who Dat?) has amassed a global following based on his stunning Beat Journey and Beyond 2morrow albums on the legendary Lex Records label. Imagine a parallel universe with drums, trumpets and various vocals, all cut to perfection using re-engineered Dalek lasers, pro-scratch mixers and brightly coloured computers that run on sugar cane.

FREE THE ROBOTS
[Alpha Pup]
Enter Free The Robots, a producer who pays homage to the past with a drive for the future blending elements of jazz, electronic, hip-hop, soul, psychedelic rock and noise. Somewhere between soulful-melodic bliss, head-nodding grooves and aggressively-driven rhythms, harmony and total freedom stands for those with open minds. A perfect example of the Low End doctrine.

SAMIYAM
[Brainfeeder]
As one-half of the FLYamSAM production duo (countered by Flying Lotus), Michigan-transplant SAMIYAM is an exciting addition to the L.A. beat producer community. He recently dropped an EP on the renowned UK-based dubstep label Hyperdub, while his Rap Beats Vol. 1 on Lotus’ Brainfeeder imprint has been dropping jaws worldwide. No doubt, SAMIYAM will bring the pain.
