If you’ve heard Bibio’s music before….you haven’t heard anything yet until you check out his newest release Ambivalence Avenue. One thing’s for sure…his talent is immeasurable. His musical productions transpose elements of ambient, electronic, folk, hip hop, and experimental. You’ll find yourself questioning what exactly it is that you’re listening too. I find it quite amazing how he can transition from an organic, acoustic folk track into hard hitting beat any beat head can appreciate. Put it all together and you’ve got some amazing music. Highly Recommended

I’m uploading a bunch of vids right now. Here’s the first one of us strolling in and first person we run into… Baseck. Keep checking back periodically as I add more of these. YouTube uploads are so SLOW.

The highly anticipated Nosaj Thing album entitled Drift is now available through all major MP3 retailers (I-Tunes, Amazon.com, etc.). Hailing from Los Angeles, CA Jason Chung aka Nosaj Thing has been holding it down as one of the sickest producers in the scene. He’s shared the stage with artists such as Prefuse 73, Daedalus, and Flying Lotus and his productions consist of experimental electronic style music meshed with gritty hip hop-ish beats that tends to make minds melt into a gooey unidentifiable pile of existence. His new album is definitely something you can’t pass up. Instant classic right here. Check out this track called Coat of Arms.

I heard this album today thanks to Matthew David (Alpha Pup Records, Dublab). I was immediately rewarded by beautiful melodies and the amazing sounds of raw dirty recordings. There’s just something about dirt and grit in music that I can’t get enough of. There’s just too much music out there that sounds good…but too perfect. You NEED to have this album in your collection. INSTANT CLASSIC. Check out this track from the Tune-Yard album Bird-Brains called Lions
all these songs were recorded through a Sony digital voice recorder and tracked in Audacity. they are created from sounds from my life over the past 2 years. multiple thanks to J & T for buying me that voice recorder, and thanks to YOU for listening.
“Those people who made up the songs were the ones who insisted upon life and living, who reaffirmed themselves. They didn’t just fall down into the cracks or the holes.” –Odetta

Check out Bark Psychosis. They’re a band from East London formed back in 1986. Their music focuses on several musical style elements including minimalism, psychedelia, cool jazz and post-punk. This track entitled From What Is Said To When It’s Read is a favorite of mine. You can find it on the Codename: Dustsucker album. The album itself features an amazing array of experimental yet musical variety of instrumental tracks.

This track by Lukid called Slow Hand Slap will make you do back flips starting from your hands. The album entitled Foma was brought to my attention by Matthew David over at Alpha Pup Records. Lukid’s tracks are very inspiring, peaceful, and mind blowing at any given instant. It hits you like a breath of fresh air. Pick up the album right now before you forget.

If you love music then it would be a shame if you didn’t have Nostalgia 77’sOne Offs, Remixes and B Sides album in your collection. I consider it one of the best albums I’ve heard in a LOOOOONG time. It features 22 remixed Nostalgia 77 tracks featuring a highly talented collection of artists such as Alice Russel, TM Juke, Bonobo. Natural Self, Elizabeth Shepard, and The New Mastersounds. If you’re into jazz, hip hop, downtempo, experimental, or just music in general this is definitely worth checking out.

Here’s a track from Dosh entitled Everybody Cheer Up Song up from the album The Lost Take. Dosh, an artist known for his electronic and experimental style utilizes a variety of live instruments and electronic gear to deliver a truly unique sound. The music he creates is refreshing to an overburdened ear that is constantly bombarded by repetitious style biting and corporate driven productions. It’s great to know that there are still musicians out there that can play a live show equally good if not better than his recorded material. I definitely dig his use of live loop recording which adds yet another creative element to his music. He’s currently on tour with Andrew Bird and their performances together are mind blowing. Make sure to catch one if you’re lucky enough to have them play in your city.

Expect something new every month. Like his live shows you never know what you’re going to expect. He’s hauling massive equipment for this using classic synths, drum machines, vocoders etc. If you’ve never seen his live show performing as the other half of Poly along with the Reflektor definitely check this out. It’s definitely GOING DOWN! Expect mind blowing experimental, futuristic, electro sounds mixed with a dash of other worldly skratching.
