“My Cabal” has at its core a rather telling bit of wordplay. The word “cabal”-usually pronounced “kuh-BALL,” meaning a secret, conspiratorial clique not unlike School of Seven Bells themselves-is here pronounced “cable,” like the electronic connector. Appropriately, the song “My Cabal” reflects that strange conflation of technology and the supernatural, spinning a drum-machine throb, a few chiming guitars, and a My Bloody Valentine-style atmospheric “whoosh” into a sophisticated dream-pop anthem.

The Glitch Mob- Slaying Crowds From Los Angeles to the Bay

The Glitch Mob specializes in creating music that just simply can’t be categorized within one genre -taking influences from IDM, glitch, Dubstep, and even Heavy Metal. If you ever see them perform live don’t expect a quiet performance. In a recent interview on XLR8R they explain that they try to stray away from typical hide behind your laptop performances and take time to step out and have fun with the crowd at different intervals. Their shows are definitely hype. 4 members make up the group- Mayer, Boreta, Kratz, and Ma. They’re usually associated with the IDM-Hip Hop scene which includes talents such as Flying Lotus and Daedelus to name a few. They have a free MP3 available for download on their website.
