I just can’t get over the rawness of this album. Referencing back to previous GLK productions I can say with confidence that it has that signature Gas Lamp Killer sound written all over it. The blaring soulful vocals of Gonjasufi matched with his poetic lyricism haunts this record and speaks volumes into the beyond. This is Gonjasufi right here, in his purest form displayed for all to experience. Once you hear his voice and his words, your life will never be the same again. It has a timeless feel as you take a journey into the depths of each song you get a sense of being trapped in an existence where past, present, and future are one and there is nothing caught in between except you and the music. The album which also features productions from Flying Lotus and Mainframe is set to be released on March 9th through Warp Records. Highly Recommended

There’s a feeling of anticipation here in LA as Flying Lotus (Steve Ellison) one of the most important producers of our generation sets out to release his newest album entitled Cosmogramma. He’s been referred to by BBC’s Mary Anne Hobbs as the “Hendrix” of his generation. The release will feature some of the most important productions of Lotus’ massive music collection with collaborations with high profile artists such as Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. Ellison revealed his interest in wanting to work with Radiohead or Bjork in an interview back in 2008. His work as a producer spans an entire decade. A FlyLo tribute was recently featured on his imprint label Brainfeeder’s (Alpha Pup Records) website containing a mix curated by one of the greatest DJs on the planet The Gas Lamp Killer (Brainfeeder/Low End Theory). Another essential mix you should check out is his epic 2 hour set featured on Diplo’s Mad Decent blog. His label Brainfeeder is a collective of the most important producers of our time and its influence spans the entire globe. Prepare for possibly one of the most amazing listening experience of your life. The album will be available digitally worldwide this coming May. Highly Recommended.

I had to make an extra effort after listening to this album to try to get the remaining portion of my brain that was still functioning to sum up Butter for you. It’ll be difficult to remember your very name after listening to this because the electrically charged melodies alone will mangle your every thought. The album can best be described as a futuristic soundtrack for some twisted out of this world science fiction adventure released a decade ahead of its time. Hudson Mohawke or Hud Mo – what many fans like to refer the Glaslow based producer as – delivers one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year and he’s not letting anyone down. I’d have to agree with many who have said that this may very well be one of the best albums of 2009. Highly Recommended

If you’ve heard Bibio’s music before….you haven’t heard anything yet until you check out his newest release Ambivalence Avenue
. One thing’s for sure…his talent is immeasurable. His musical productions transpose elements of ambient, electronic, folk, hip hop, and experimental. You’ll find yourself questioning what exactly it is that you’re listening too. I find it quite amazing how he can transition from an organic, acoustic folk track into hard hitting beat any beat head can appreciate. Put it all together and you’ve got some amazing music. Highly Recommended
